Ellie Cole OLY is a 19 year old Platform Diver on the Australian National Elite Squad. A New South Wales Institute of Sport (NSWIS) scholarship holder, Ellie represented Australia at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games in 10m individual platform. Making the finals on her debut, Ellie is now ranked an impressive 7th in the world.
Having completed Year 12 at PLC Sydney, Ellie is now studying at Stanford University, where she continues both her academic journey and her diving career at the collegiate and international level.

Background
Born in New Jersey, USA in 2006, Ellie moved to Sydney, Australia when she was six months old. She began gymnastics at the age of six and trained in the sport for five years. After trying diving, she quickly developed a passion for it and soon retired from gymnastics to focus on her new pursuit. Ellie has been diving with the New South Wales Institute of Sport since 2018, and has been a member of the Australian National Diving Squad since 2024.

Out of the Pool
Outside of the pool, Ellie enjoys physics and mathematics and is motivated by the challenge of scientific research beyond the classroom. She won the University of Sydney Sleek Geeks Science Eureka Prize in 2019 and was awarded first place in the Science Teachers Association New South Wales (STANSW) Young Scientist Awards in 2022.
Her final-year Science Extension project earned second place in the STANSW Young Scientist Awards in 2024, received the ASTA i-Cubed Major Award for Ingenuity, and was selected to represent Australia at the International Science and Engineering Fair.
